Well, you can also be the designer or developer of these amazing machines. If you have love and passion for such machines, then a career in Automobile Engineering can be a possible choice for you.


Automobile Engineering also known as Automotive Engineering which deals with Designing, Manufacturing, Developing, Testing and Maintenance of the Automobiles. Automobile engineering is also called vehicle engineering, one of the best existing fields in engineering but at the same time it has more growth, opportunity worldwide. Automobile Engineers are classified into many streams namely Product or Design Engineering, Development Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering. It combines different engineering methods such as electrical, safety, software, mechanical and so on to provide a better maintenance and services for vehicles. This field requires lots of hard work and dedication to learn the profession and to achieve the success. Engineers in this field deals with creation, design, service, and manufacture of different vehicles which works efficiently and produce good result to satisfy the customers.

INFRASTRUCTURE


Engineering means practical education. We make students understand this and they become very keen on practical. They are guided by expert faculty and supportive staff in the laboratories for practical learning.

   Industrial visit is routine activity for the engineering students during which students visit companies and get insights regarding the internal working environment of a company and how a company functions, as well as useful information related to the practical aspects of the educational course which cannot be visualized in lectures.


Automobile Engineering Department of Image Engineering and Technical Institute organized an industrial visit to G.S.R.T.C. Central Workshop, Naroda for 2nd and 3rd year Diploma Automobile Engineering students.


   G.S.R.T.C. is the road transport company of Gujarat for Gujarat state started from 1st may, 1960 by Gujarat government. Main workshop of G.S.R.T.C. is located at Naroda (Ahmedabad). Since the time G.S.R.T.C. Central workshop incorporated all buses have been manufactured. This workshop can build max. 1000buses/year. In addition for all buses there is also available Tire Retreading Plant in G.S.R.T.C. Central Workshop, Naroda.


   They carry out bus body production process effectively and make sure that no possibility of any flaws remains. The entire production stages are carried out smoothly under expert supervision to make sure the clients’ requisites are met within the stipulated time-frame. The production goes flawless which assure superior quality, durability and higher performing capability of the output bus body.
Also, they are backed by constant supply of quality raw material produces from reliable vendors along with committed team of employs which makes it easier to complete the production and deliver the final output within the agreed time-frame. Quality and durability are given extreme importance throughout the production process, which has gained their clientele’s trust and appreciation for their final output bus bodies.


   3 faculty members, Mr. Deep Shah, Mr. Smit Patel and Mr. Dhruvit Parmar along with 60 students visited G.S.R.T.C. Central Workshop, Naroda (Ahmedabad) on 07/03/2017. Guided by the resource person of G.S.R.T.C. Central Workshop, Naroda, Mr. M. P. Chauhan and I.E.T.I. faculties the students went from one section to another. They were explained in detail the working of all the machines by the staff at the premises. Students were divided in three groups and they visited departments like Machine Shop, Body Shop, Coach Shop, Paint Shop, Tire Shop, etc. and obtain the deep knowledge of the building of new coach, maintenance and functioning of the organization.
   Students were also explained about the manufacturing and maintenance of various parts of automobile body undertaken by G.S.R.T.C. Central workshop. The visit helped students to get ideas of bus building, repairing of various body components, Interior and Exterior works carried out on coaches.
